Town Hall Bookings

The Town Hall was erected by public subscription in 1866. It was then renovated and enlarged in 1933 and opened in February 1934. With an auditorium which seats 350, the Town Hall is widely used by the local community for arts and cultural events including Ballymoney Drama Festival, the oldest Drama Festival in Ireland.

The newly refurbished and extended Town Hall houses a multi-purpose auditorium and a number of meeting rooms of varying sizes which are all available for hire.

The auditorium can seat up to 340 and is an execellent venue for all kinds of cultural events including drama, music and dance.

Three multi-purpose rooms can accommodate a range of activities including meetings, talks, courses and training seminars. These are as follows:

Shiels Room seats a maximum of 80 theatre style or 24 seated at tables.

Cramsie Room seats 36 theatre style or 18 seated at tables.

Refreshments can be provided if required.

1. All charges include for heat and light.
2. Auditorium (Main Hall) bookings include changing rooms, if required.
3. A series of bookings will entitle the applicant to the following discounts:
5 bookings - 20%
10 bookings - 25%
15 bookings - 30%
20 bookings - 35%
4. Commercial lettings add 100% to the above rates.
5. Sundays and Public Holidays add 50% to the above rates.
6. All letting fees must be paid in full in advance on acceptance of bookings.
7. Minimum hire period - 2 hours (excluding facility preparation)
8. A surcharge of *% will be added to all booking charges where there are performance of music, whether given live or by mechanical means in compliance with the 1956 Copyright Act. (* live music + 5%, mechanical means, tapes, cds etc +10%)
