Recycling

Ballymoney Borough Council provides a range of options to make managing waste easier for people of all ages.  Householders can avail of a blue bin scheme which deals with a range of materials detailed in the appropriate bin collections link.  Depending on location, approximately 7,000 households have access to a brown bin for garden wastes.

Outside the home, facilities exist across the Borough covering most villages.  At these Community Recycling Centres, glass, paper, cans and textiles can all be recycled.  In Ballymoney Town, all the major supermarkets have recycling points for glass, textiles and cans.  These are all unstaffed facilities, which are accessible for most of the day and early evening.

Staff are on hand at both Council owned Civic Amenity Sites, located on the Knock Road Ballymoney and Burnquarter Road approximately 5 miles from Ballymoney Town.  At these sites, there is a broader range of options for the separation of waste and staff are there to assist those who need it.
