Pubs, Restaurants and Shops in Ballymoney town have joined forces to promote the spirits of Halloween event in the town during the Halloween mid term break 28th October – 1st November. The event is being co-ordinated and marketed by Ballymoney Town Centre Management in association with Ballymoney Chamber of Commerce.
Giving a flavour of the new event Chamber President, Winifred Mellett, enthused: We are delighted with the response from the hospitality sector and other event organisers in the town. There is a host of afternoon evening events planned, a mix of live rock & pop & karaoke , spooky stories, arts & crafts, kids fancy dress party. Full details of the programme of events will be revealed soon”
Commenting on late night shopping on Friday evening, 30th October, the Chamber President said: “We are absolutely delighted with the response from shops, Over 20 have signed up to date to open from 6.00 p.m. – 8.30 p.m., so there is the opportunity to kick start your Christmas shopping in Ballymoney. We expect a great buzz around the town that evening, with the Q97 big gig rig providing non-stop music from 6 – 8 pm from its base in High Street and many coffee shops and cafes will be opening late to add to the shopping experience. Our Town restaurants have also entered into the spirit and have menus to appeal to the whole family, some offering themed menus.”
Welcoming the town event Chair of Council Development Committee, Councillor John Finlay, said: “ The town businesses have some great tricks, treats and eats planned and the scene is set for an eventful Halloween event in the town. Events like this attract visitors to the town, promote the day-time and evening economy of the town and raise the profile of the town in the community. I congratulate everyone involved and wish the event a success.”
