Its all about Children at Ballymoney’s Switch On! 11/11/2008

Ballymoney Borough Council and  Town Centre Management are pleased to unveil this year’s new look Christmas Shopping and Entertainment Guide for Ballymoney.

Jam packed with musicals, pantos and carol singing, it really is a brochure full of traditional festive cheer.  fUSe FM are taking to the airwaves on 22 November for a four week period, while Santa will be making various trips to Ballymoney, firstly, on Switch On Night on  Thursday 27  November , then to the Christmas Fair on  Friday 28 November  and then on  Saturdays 13 and 20 December . Santa will be on hand for a photo if you bring along your own camera.

Speaking about this year’s  events, Kerrie McGonigle Tourism Coordinator commented, “Christmas is all about children and this is heavily reflected in our Switch on events, where children of all ages are involved in some way.  The primary schools are involved in the Lantern Parade which will lead Santa into Ballymoney, while the secondary schools will put on a taster of this year’s musicals Busgy Malone and The Sound of Music.  Furthermore, we have young  people taking part in ‘Ballymoney’s Got Talent’ which was a real hit last year.”

Joanne McLaughlin, Town Centre Project Officer further commented,  “I would encourage Borough residents to come out and support the  Christmas Brochure  advertisers who have helped to fund this year’s exciting programme.   Between them they offer a wide range of Christmas gifts, hospitality and essentials to make this holiday season very special.”

A copy of the Christmas Shopping and Entertainment Guide has been mailshot to every household within the Ballymoney borough and has been distributed to areas just beyond the borough as well.  Additional copies are available at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre, Ballymoney Tourist Information Centre at the Town Hall or can be downloaded HERE.
