Ballymoney Warmer Homes Group in conjunction with Ballymoney Borough Council has launched an affordable fuel stamp scheme to enable householders who use central heating oil to budget and save effectively. The scheme has been running since September 2006.
Go to one of the participating retail outlets listed below and ask for an oil savings card.
£5 oil savings stamps can be purchased from the same retailer and put on the card. These stamps will then be accepted as payment by a selection of local oil companies (details below).
Each card holds 30 stamps. You may buy as many stamps as you want every week and spread the cost of oil over several weeks rather than having to spend hundreds of pounds in one payment.

Rather than having to pay large fuel bills all in one go many fuel companies have schemes to spread the cost. These include monthly or quarterly direct debit through a bank account or using a pre-payment scheme called PayPoint where payments can be made at a local PayPoint outlet such as a supermarket.
Fuel suppliers such as oil and gas companies and Northern Ireland Electricity can advise on their methods of payment. Just phone your fuel supplier. Useful contacts details are:

It is always best to contact the fuel company in the first instance if there are problems paying for fuel. Advice agencies are good sources of help for anyone who gets into debt.
