Refuse Collection & Bulky Collection Services
The refuse collection service consists of the following:
Household Collection
52 weekly collections each year. Collections of mixed domestic waste (grey/black bins) and dry recyclables (blue recycling bin) are organised on an alternate week basis. Calendars advising of schedule of collections may be obtained by contacting 028 2766 0257.
Trade Waste Collection
With prior agreement, the Council will collect trade waste from businesses and individuals within the Borough. Customers can either purchase or lease trade waste refuse containers ranging in size from 240 litre to 750 litre. Please contact 028 2766 0257 for information on trade waste charges and applicable refuse container purchase/lease costs.
Assisted Person Scheme
Back door collection to help elderly or disabled people on the establishment of a special need.
Bulky Household Waste Collection
Each household in the Borough qualifies for one free collection of bulky household items (e.g. furniture, kitchen appliances) from April 1st to March 31st inclusive.
Supply of household ‘wheelie bins’
Householders may purchase a new or replacement wheelie bin as well as replacement parts (i.e. wheels, axles, lids) from the Council. For details on purchase costs and delivery of bins/parts please contact 028 2766 0257.
