The INTERREG IIIA Programme is an EU Community Initiative designed to support cross border co-operation, social cohesion and economic development between the regions of the European Union. The Northern Ireland/ Ireland INTERREG IIIA Programme covers all of Northern Ireland and the six border counties of Ireland: Cavan; Donegal; Leitrim; Louth; Monaghan and Sligo.
The INTERREG IIIA Programme aims to address the economic and social disadvantages which can result from the existence of a border. This entails providing grant aid to individuals, groups and organisations from the EU's European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The programme is divided into distinct priorities and measures.
