Ballymoney CSP,  Coleraine CSP, Limavady CSP and Moyle CSP came together to produce the Causeway Coast and Glens Area Community Safety Strategy 2010 -2013.  This strategy has been developed for the Causeway Coast and Glens Area.  It is the first of its kind, bringing together the four council CSPs with one vision, one aim and common themes, however it has also recognised regional differences and the need to deliver local projects to address local needs.  The four CSPs have come together to work in collaboration on two projects based on the information identified in this document:

•    STRIDE (Success Through Recreation, Intervention & Diversionary Activities) – a project to address increasing concerns regarding anti social behaviour and criminal activity in the Ballymoney, Coleraine, Moyle and Limavady Council areas.  STRIDE will offer education and skill based training to young offenders in a non-judgemental, supportive and vibrant environment from September 2011 – January 2012.

•    My Name is Katie – an initiative aimed at raising awareness with parents of primary school children via an educational programme, providing information and advice on alcohol, specifically focusing on early intervention.

Neighbourhood Watch is more than just protecting homes and property against burglary. By working together, neighbours can help to reduce all sorts of crimes, antisocial behaviour and even young people causing a nuisance. They can also take action to improve the environment by getting something done about vandalism, graffiti, poor street lighting and a lack of local facilities. Neighbourhood Watch helps to reassure people by reducing the fear of crime and making communities safer places to live and work.
Neighbourhood Watch is also about bringing people closer together by developing a stronger community spirit. Schemes promote confidence within communities that something positive is being done to prevent local crime and improve the quality of life in the area.
