Community Recycling Centres
Ballymoney Borough Council actively seeks to add local facilities to allow easy access to, and participation in, recycling. Since 2003, the Council has located community recycling centres in 9 local villages as well as 4 supermarkets in Ballymoney town. The facilities are an integral part of a wider community outreach programme whereby Council will work with groups or individuals to develop greater responsibility and participation.

You can recycle the following materials at all supermarket sites:
Glass bottles and containers
Aluminium food and drinks cans

Your local Community Recycling Centre presents an opportunity for you to manage waste locally. You can recycle waste at these, knowing that all materials are collected and are the resources for other products and processes.
By this stage, we had also invited Can Can Recycling to join as a social partner and this has added value to textile recycling in the Borough. When you place old clothes and textiles in banks around the Borough you are guaranteed that they are being recycled ethically and that any revenue generated is used to support adults with learning disabilities at home and people held back by poverty half way across the world!
