Additional Waste Collection Services
Assisted Persons Scheme
There are those who may have difficulty in bringing their bins to the appropriate collection point. This may be due to a temporary or more permanent medical condition. We offer a back door collection for people who this applies to whereby refuse collectors will take the bin from the back door and return to the same place. If you feel you can benefit from this service and can get medical support for your application, please contact 028 2766 0257.
Bulky Household Waste Collection
Each household in the Borough qualifies for one free collection of bulky household items (e.g. furniture, kitchen appliances) from April 1st to March 31st inclusive each year. Unfortunately, we cannot collect other items such as garden waste, rubble or fixtures and fittings. Please contact 028 2766 0257 if you require a bulky waste collection.
Supply of household ‘wheelie bins’
Householders may purchase a new or replacement wheelie bin, as well as replacement parts (i.e. wheels, axles, lids), from the Council.
Trade Waste Collection
With prior agreement, the Council will collect trade waste from businesses and individuals within the Borough. Customers can either purchase or lease trade waste refuse containers ranging in size from 240 litre to 750 litre.
